The day we known as Christmas Day is celebrated on the 25th of December. It is the most important day of the year for Christians, the day when Christians celebrate the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the founder of Christianity, known as the Son of God.
The preparation for the Christmas celebration starts on Sunday, four weeks before Christmas. This duration is called Advent. And the celebration ends on the twelfth day of Christmas i.e. 6th December. The whole period is called Christmastide. This whole week of Christmas is filled with a lot of joy, peace and great excitement. Everyone enjoys the Christmas weekend with their family and friends, decorate their houses, cook many of the recipes, do the shopping, and gifting to each other.
There are many interpretations about Christmas, but the most well-known interpretation is that when Jesus' parents' Joseph and Mary 'arrived in Bethlehem city, they had no accommodation. They started living in a nearby tavern where Jesus Christ was born. Apart from this, there is a belief about the birth of Jesus Christ that he was born in a horse stables. He spent the first thirty years of his life as a carpenter, in a place called Nazareth, near Bethlehem. Later, he started propagating his religion from there. His first two disciples were Andrew and Peter.
In the past, Christmas was basically the festival of Christians. But as time passed it surpasses the boundaries of caste and religions, and becoming much more popular among the people of all castes and religions. And in today's modern era, it is celebrated among the people of all castes and religions around the world with great joy and enthusiasm. In countries such as Japan, where Christianity is in very small number, despite this Christmas is very popular.
ON Christmas Day people remember all the lessons given by the "Lord Jesus Christ". Jesus Christ not only taught the lessons to people, but he himself followed all those principles. He sacrificed his life for social welfare but never compromised with his ideology. And till his death, he continuously served for humanity.
